RANKED! | Deontay Wilder’s Best ‘Catching Bodies’ KO’s

0

Deontay Wilder’s right hand may be the most devastating weapon in boxing history. The 34-year-old Wilder (41-0-1) boasts an ungodly 97% KO ratio throughout 42 fights. In fact, only in Wilder’s first fight with Bernard Stiverne and his controversial draw with Tyson Fury have the judge’s scorecards been anything more than scrap paper.

The Bronze Bomber’s devastating knockouts are made for memes but where do they rank?

6. Artur Szpilka (2016)

Wilder’s signature right hand should be a registered weapon. He sent Artur Szpilka (23-4) helicoptering into a broken heap. Szpilka, who famously mouthed off to Wilder pre-fight, left the arena on a stretcher. The Polish southpaw wasn’t the last to feel Wilder’s wrath after disrespecting him.

5. Luis Ortiz (2018)

Wilder and “King Kong” Ortiz (31-1) meet again later this month, but “King Kong” likely won’t forget soon what happened in the first fight. The Cuban powerhouse was game but ultimately ate a right-hand in the 10th that spelled the end to a great fight.

4. Kelvin Price (2012)

When Wilder was on the come up, he met Kelvin Price (14-2) another promising heavyweight prospect but ate a one-hit KO that proved he shouldn’t be in the ring with Wilder… quite literally.

3. Bermane Stiverne (2017)

Before Tyson Fury, world champion Bermane Stiverne (25-4-1) was the only man to survive 12 rounds with Wilder. He wasn’t so lucky the second time around as announcer Mauro Ranallo best puts it, “Wilder’s right hand is Thor’s hammer and here in round one, he is ‘Ragnaroking’ Stiverne!”

2. Siarhei Liakhovich (2013)

“The Bronze Bomber’s KO of Belarussian Siarhei Liakhovich (27-7) is borderline distressing. Watching a grown man, especially a six-foot-four heavyweight convulse on the floor is hard to watch but it’s kind of hard not to.

1. Dominic Breazeale (2019)

Coming into the fight, it was personal. Dominic Breazeale (20-2) had got into a kerfuffle with Wilder and his brother at a hotel in 2017. The Alabama-native vindictively rolled the former Northern Colorado quarterback with a KO heard around the world.
