“Triple G” | Man of Steel Chin

0

Let’s play Dr. Frankenstein and build the perfect athlete. We have to start with Kawhi Leonard’s 11.5 inch “klaws,” Lionel Messi’s magical left foot, and Gennadiy Golovkin’s steel chin.

In a storied fighting career that spans almost two decades and will continue this Saturday night against Sergiy Derevyanchenko, “Triple G” has never been knocked down. Ever. That stat is more amazing than his (39-1-1, 35 KO) record because the Kazakh legend is a boxer who is best known for his lean-in, pressing attack that resembles a lion stalking its prey around a ring.

The closest anyone has come to denting Triple G’s “iron jaw” is Canelo Alvarez in their first bout that resulted in a controversial draw. Watch the Mexican champ’s reaction when Triple G eats his thunderous right like it was a Lunchable snack.

So what’s the secret to having a superhuman chin? EsNews gave us a peek behind the “iron jaw curtain” to show us a series of painful chin and neck exercises he puts himself through. Uh, no thanks. I’ll stick with my glass jaw.

Golovkin and his legendary chin will be on display Sat. Oct. 5th when he takes on Derevyanchenko at Madison Square Garden for the vacant 160-pound title. You can stream the fight live on DAZN.
